Telephone Products:

  • Telephone amplifiers attach to existing phones and will amplify the volume of any caller’s voice.
  • Amplified telephones work just like standard telephones and you can increase the volume of the caller’s voice and use a flashing signal when the phone rings.

Cell Phone Products:

  • The cell phone amplifier is lightweight, attaches to your hands-free headset, and boosts the volume to 15 or 20 decibels.
  • The CHAAMP is a Nokia brand cell phone amplifier; it fits between the cell phone and its battery. It amplifies up to 30 decibels and has a built-in magnetic loop transmitter for use with a hearing aid with a telecoil (check for cell phone model compatibility).
  • The loop-set is placed around the neck and works with a hearing aid that has a telecoil; it is hands-free with a built-in microphone (check for cell phone model compatibility).
  • The boom microphone headset is lightweight with one model for use without a hearing aid and the other model for use with a hearing aid telecoil device because it produces a strong magnetic induction field.
  • The induction coupler headset fits discreetly behind the ear and has a built-in microphone for hands-free communicating with hearing aids that have a telecoil.

Note: Check with your brand of cell phone manufacturer for a complete list of accessories that are compatible with hearing aids.

Infrared Products:

14) These products help with hearing the television or stereo better without needing to turn the volume up too loud for others. A transmitter is placed on the TV or stereo and sends the sound to the receiver headset via an invisible beam of light. Infrared devices may also be used in movie theaters, churches, and other venues equipped with compatible equipment.

Frequency Modulated (FM) Products:

15)Understanding speech in a noisy environment can be extremely challenging. Fortunately, there are several products that assist in overcoming the common problems of hearing in a reverberant and noisy environment, and hearing with distance between the person speaking and the person listening. An FM system consists of a wireless FM microphone/transmitter and a lightweight receiver worn around the neck, even under clothing. The receiver works with the telecoil in the hearing aid. The microphone can be worn by the speaker or placed on a table near the speaker, or can receive input directly from a stereo, computer, or television.
